It looks like former LSU star Tyrann Mathieu will not be playing football or even attending school this falls. Mathieu's father told WVUE-TV in New Orleans that his son has checked into rehab.
"Honey Badger" is headed to Right Step Center in Houston on Monday and will reportedly be mentored by former NBA star John Lucas.
Mathieu had been kicked off the LSU football team last Friday for violating the team's rules on substance abuse. Just this week, he said he hoped to play for the Tigers in 2013 and had been considering continuing to attend LSU and paying his own way.
Mathieu has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
